FURIOUS cops have shut down an illegal anti-Brexit rave on picturesque Dartmoor – after drugged up Remainer revellers sparked chaos with 24 hours of muddy partying.
Officers battled through the night to shut down the event on the moor’s Cadover Bridge – and warned dog walkers to avoid “human excrement”.
Two people were arrested and hundreds of cars were left parked near a disused quarry.
One partygoer called Ross said the rave was a “celebration of youths getting together”.
He added: “It’s especially special because the whole Brexit and all of the new EU things.
“We will never leave mess. We hate, I mean everyone that you see here, will be extremely incorporated with the XR protesters and do not want to see anything wrong happening with Mother Earth.
“And um, XR, is really important and what we’re doing here is nothing more than anything else that you’ll do on your own land.
“It’s just us coming on private, uh public land, having a party, cleaning up, leaving, nothing is left.”
“One car full of revellers crashed as the youths tried to make a getaway.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “A car containing youths crashed near the site of the rave on Dartmoor at 12.50pm.
“One vehicle is involved and police remain on scene.”
Chief Supt Matt Longman added: “Our concerns are both for the people in attendance and the impact on the local community.
“We are currently at the scene working with members of the public to bring about closing the event down.
“Local roads are currently gridlocked and there is limited access for emergency vehicles to attend should they be needed.”
Tweeting a picture of stolen medical-grade Nitrous Oxide canisters, the force’s sergeant Tim Perrin said: “Would advise dog walkers to avoid the area due to the amount of waste, including human excrement, at the location for a few days.”
Police said they had arrested an 18-year-old man, from Wilshire, for possession of Class A and C drugs and a 27-year-old man, from Kingskerswell, Devon, for driving under the influence.
