THE wife of a police officer who was mowed down by a hit-and-run driver has released shocking photos of her bloodied husband in hospital to catch his attacker.
Donna Casey shared pictures of PC Jon Casey, who is in his 30s, after a Mini Cooper ploughed into the dad-of-three in Woodford Green, North East London.
His facial wounds and bandaged leg can be seen as he recovers in hospital from the smash, which took place just after midnight on January 6.
Donna posted on Facebook: “This is my husband Jon Casey who is the police officer that was run over today in Woodford Bridge by driver of car that failed to stop for police.
“He is a father of three boys, a son, a brother and my best friend.
“We want the public to see what these people will do to get away from justice so please share this picture!”
‘MY BEST FRIEND’
Cops gave chase after the driver failed to stop when signalled to do so.
Officers waited on nearby Chigwell Road for the grey Mini after the driver sped off.
PC Casey tried to deploy a stinger to blow out the tyres, but was hit by the car.
The Mini, which had false number plates from the year 1967, then fled from the scene, with PC Casey left injured in the road.

He was rushed to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Mini was found abandoned nearby around 12.45 am.
A 29-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been released under investigation.
A police manhunt is still underway for the hit-and-run driver.
Detective Sergeant Jose-Paulo Qureshi said: “The officer was simply doing his duty when he was struck by the vehicle and was seriously injured – he’s lucky not to have been killed.
“The suspects fled the scene, despite knowing they had hit an officer, leaving him seriously injured in the road.”
He appealed for the public to come forward with any information or dashcam footage.
It is the latest in a string of recent hit-and-run attacks on police officers in England.
PC Andrew Harper was dragged to his death under a van after responding to a burglary in August last year.
The hero cop, who married his childhood sweetheart just four weeks earlier, died from multiple injuries after he was dragged along a road.
Earlier in the same month Pc Gareth Phillips, a 42-year-old West Midlands Police traffic officer, suffered life-changing injuries when he was run over by a car thief in Birmingham.
Metropolitan Police constable Stuart Outten, 28, was dubbed “Britain’s bravest police officer”, after he Tasered a suspect while being hit with a machete.
And in November, a manhunt was launched after a female police officer suffered leg and neck injuries when she was hit by a car in North West London.
