Man in his 20s fighting for his life after multiple people stabbed

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after ‘multiple’ people were stabbed in east London this afternoon.

Police have cordoned off a large scene in the Barking area.

Officers found two men injured when they arrived at the scene in Sandringham Road, Barking, at 4.24pm on Sunday.

A man, in his twenties, was stabbed with a knife while another suffered slash wounds to his hand.

One of the victims was rushed to a hospital in east London and is described as being in a “critical” condition.

Police have confirmed that an air ambulance was called to the scene.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Detectives have told people to avoid the local area as forensic teams deal with the incident.

The Metropolitan Police said on Twitter: “Two people have been arrest following a stabbing in #Barking. We were called at 16:24hrs to Sandringham Road to a man in his mid-20s suffering injuries.

“He has been taken to an east London hospital. His condition is critical. A crime scene is in place.”

A further statement from the police confirmed that one other person had been stabbed in the hand.

“The incident is being linked to a stabbing in Porters Avenue, Dagenham, with a male, believed aged 19, stabbed in the hand. A crime scene is in place and enquiries continue”, a spokeswoman said.

Last week, two men were been stabbed near a private hospital in broad daylight.

Officers swooped they found two men with knife wounds by the private clinic in High Road, Buckhurst Hill, just north east of London, around 3.20pm.

A statement read: “We were called to reports of a man injured at an address in High Road, Buckhurst Hill shortly before 3.20pm on Thursday 13 February.

“We attended and found two men injured.”
