The rail cancellations following damage from Storm Dennis

Public transport is still experiencing disruption following damage wrought by Storm Dennis.

After a weekend marred by high winds, torrential rain and devastating floods, many routes across Wales and the Borders have been impacted.

With further downpours expected later this week there is much more disruption expected for many commuters.

Transport for Wales have already announced many cancelled Wales and the Borders services on Tuesday, February 18.

These are the cancellations as they stand:

Cardiff and Valleys

All services north of Pontypridd (includes Aberdare, Merthyr and Treherbert) are currently closed until further notice.

Tickets will be accepted on local Stagecoach bus services, according to Transport for Wales.

Customers have been advised to make alternative travel arrangements.

Replacement buses on the Aberdare route are not able to call at intermediate stations and are running non-stop between Aberdare and Pontypridd.

Rhymney

There are no services between Bargoed and Rhymney due to a landslide at Brithdir.

No replacement road transport is available and customers have been told to use local Stagecoach South Wales bus services.

Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury

There are no services between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury.

No replacement road transport is available, according to Transport for Wales.

Customers on this route are advised to make alternative travel arrangements.

Machynlleth to Pwllheli

There are no services between Machynlleth and Pwllheli. Replacement road transport is in place.

Heart of Wales

There are no services between Swansea to Shrewsbury and very Limited road transport is in operation subject to local road conditions.

Customers on this route are advised to make alternative travel arrangements.

Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog

This route will remain closed for approximately four weeks, according to Transport for Wales.

Replacement road transport in place.

Marches

There are currently no services between Newport to Hereford.

Due to local road closures in the Hereford and Abergavenny area, buses are currently unable to operate between Abergavenny, Cwmbran and Hereford.

Customers travelling between Abergavenny, Pontypool, Cwmbran and Newport should use local Stagecoach South Wales and Newport Transport buses.

Transport for Wales tickets will be accepted on these services. 

Ebbw Vale

No services between Cross Keys and Ebbw Vale.

Replacement road transport will be in operation between Ebbw Vale and Cross Keys.

Road conditions in the Llanhilleth area mean replacement buses are being diverted extending journey times.

Tickets will also be accepted on local Stagecoach S Wales bus routes.
